debshomespun Posted March 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2009 Has anyone recently done the 5 hour luncheon tour with Shasa Catamaran cruise in Barbados recently? Just looking for some feedback from CC. Here is their website: http://www.shasacatamarancruises.com/ We will be in Barbados on sunday, nov. 8 and are thinking of doing this. Our other option is just going to a beach for some down time, but not sure which beach would be best. TIA!
jayred1 Posted March 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2009 I was going to share our experience (we had a great time!), but figured I'd reference a well-written review from another person on our trip. She did a great job telling about the wonderful time we had in February. I'd recommend them and considered it much better than beach time. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=906791 You also might try searching "Shasa" on this thread to find others opinion. Rare little britain Posted March 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2009 We did the 3hr cruise last Sunday - and it was FANTASTIC! This was the trip I had been looking forward to the most – swimming with turtles. We had booked via www.shasacatamaran.com for $60pp for a 3hr swim. This company is run by a charming husband/wife couple named Jason and Tess. Tess met us at the pier. There were only 4 of us on the trip. She drove us down the coast a way pointing out fantastic villas, condos and the famous Sandy Lane hotel (where Simon Cowell stays – he wasn’t there…!). The big bonus about this catamaran is that Jason actually puts up the sails and we sail her, not just motoring, There was ample beer, soda and rum punch if we wanted. We sailed to a spot where there was a sunken wreck and lots of fish, and then on to where the turtles were. He pointed out the ships tours – which can take up to 145 people. Yuck. We had the most fantastic relaxing day under the sails, and I would highly recommend them. Unfortunately for us there need to be 6 on the cruise for Tess to produce the lunch, but I have heard it was good from another review on this site. macaroni Posted March 30, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 30, 2009 Was the sailing done in basically protected calmer areas or would you have to worry if the seas were rough. I am prone to motion sickness.
notentirelynormal Posted May 6, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2009 Does anyone know what their cancellation policy is... if we miss the port?
debr Posted May 7, 2009 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Does anyone know what their cancellation policy is... if we miss the port? Last week I e-mailed to ask that question and here is the reply -- In regards to our cancellation policy, we only take the credit card info to secure your booking, the card is not charged . We actually prefer our cruise ship passengers to pay cash on the day of the charter. We will not charge the card if the cruise ship does not make port, the only reason your card would ever be charged is if you cancelled within the given time frame or if you were a no -show at the gate on the day of the tour. I hope this clears any doubts you have about booking with us, Willing to provide you with more info about our tours when you reply. Thanks Tess Debr:)
