Beach/Good Snorkel

Not really into "swimming with the Stingrays". Any recommendations. We do like to do things on our own. Thanks!

If you want to beach snorkel, the best places on Grand Cayman is at Cemetary Reef, about 15 minutes drive from the pier and about 3-4 miles north ... a bit too far to walk. Cemetery Reef is a very popular spot for both snorkeling and sun tanning with trees for shade. This beautiful location will offer the best of both worlds, a beach entrance and good snorkeling nearby. You get dropped off pretty much in the middle of a neighborhood and you walk down a sand path beside a cemetery. The beach is on the backside of the cemetery and pretty much deserted. It has a small marine park right off the beach.

You might want to try Eden Rocks (For Snorkeling). Lots of fish! Short walk from the pier, free:D And there is a place to eat and drink if you want. Not much of a beach, but you can rent a chair. $7us (a few years ago). You can use the chairs for free, but you are not guaranteed one unless you pay. Good Luck, we will be there in April!

Where is the best place to rent snorkel gear if we wanted to go to Cemetary Reef?

 

And/or what would the best place be to snorkel if we wanted restrooms nearby (and hopefully lockers?)

Eden Rock is great and free.

I was in Grand Cayman last week and walked about 7 minutes to Eden Rock diving center. They have snorkel gear and lockers for rent. I seen alot of fish and a few turtles.
