If you have to cancel, do you lose your cruise credits?

We're considering cancelling a cruise we have booked due to an illness close to the family. We have $200 in cruise credits from a cruise booked onboard and $500 in "goodwill" cruise credits because we were on one of the "hurricane" cruises in September. They applied both of these to our cruise that we have booked. If we cancel, will we lose these credits completely, or will they apply them back to our Circle Savings for a future cruise? We haven't decided what to do yet.
