sgriff17 Posted November 30, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2004 Ok well, this is Mrs. Sgriff17 (the finace) We booked an OV GTY and an Inside GTY in addition to a 6A assigned cabin, 3 cabins total for the Triumph 12/18/04 sailing. As of last week, the only assigned cabin was to the assigned cabin we booked, the others nothing yet. I tried doing the http://www.carnival.com/modify (whatever the website is to modify booking), but get the error page. BTW, We booked directly through a Carnival PVP. I only show 35 cabins available on the entire ship - 1 interior room - 32 balconies and 2 suites. Does this probably mean that both the Inside and OV guarentee have been upgraded to balcony cabins? The OV room having 3 people in it and the inside only 2, but ALL are past Carnival guests? How much does this help when giving upgrades? My grandparents are in the assigned cabin on the Rivera deck and we used Marriott Rewards for this cruise, so I doubt that they will get an upgrade as well? Has anyone has experience with any of this?? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.
SggSTLRAMS Posted November 30, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2004 I think you have a good chance considering the amount of balcony rooms available.
serene56 Posted November 30, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2004 The reason you are getting the error message is because the one cruise is registered on the site. Could you email me and Ill give you another idea to try- serene56@aol.com
lucyjohnz Posted November 30, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2004 Our TA told me that Guarantees are actually given a "secret" assignment when the booking is made - probably in the lowest Gty you booked. So, seeing an entire ship booked probably means that one of those booked cabins is yours and that your secret cabin may become properly assigned to you when you get to the ship. Who knows how and why they do upgrades, but I think that a guarantee on a fully booked ship may be more likely to NOT get upgrades than a gty. on a non-fully booked ship.
