Cruise with a baby

Hi all,

 

Been a year since i've been on the boards and my wife has a little one on the way. I am thinking of planning a suprise trip in Oct 2010. I know a long time away but wondering what is it like going on a cruise with a baby.

 

The baby would be 14 months old and we are looking at a cruise on Freedom and its 8 days long.

 

Are there any things we should know or plan for ??

 

Is it advisable to bring a baby that young ???

 

Any other thoughts on the subject would be great.
