September weather?

after many cruises, we have finally decided to try Alaska. What type of weather can we expect in early september? We will be doing a 7 day R/T seattle. thanks

You just never know what you'll get in Alaska. We've been twice during the first week of Sept., in 06 and 08 and the weather was ok. We didn't have any hard rain, but did have sprinkles several times. Both times in Glacier Bay it was overcast, one time in Ketchikan was wet, one time was dry and sunny. Once in Juneau was sunny, once cloudy. You just never know and should plan to dress in layers. Alaska was GREAT even without perfect weather, you'll love it.

The first week can definately be better than later. :) Be well prepared, layers, rain gear, knit hat gloves, 2 pair of walking shoes. AND some great port plans. :)

You're talking about average highs for the day - the mean minimum at Yakutat (Hubbard Glacier) is 40.6 degrees, meaning there are some chilly mornings.

I'm going Sept 2nd thru the 7th so I had been checking that info as well.
