Travel Insurance with pre existing question

I;m looking to purchase the travel insuarance now but am too past the date for any waiver of pre existing. If a family member who had cancer over a year ago has a relapse would that be a covered cancel? The plan Im seeing has a 180 day look back.

To me you would not be covered. That's JMO though. I would suggest you talk to the insurance company as they may say the pre-existing condition would apply to you, not a family member.

 

I don't know which insurance company you are thinking about, but you might try insuremytrip.com and see if there is any insurance that will cover your situation. It might be more expensive, but could give you peace of mind.

 

Also, some insurance companies insure people who buy insurance within a few days of booking the cruise. In that case, the pre-existing conditions may not apply. I don't know when you booked, so don't know if that is an option.

Check out CSA Web Deluxe policy on InsureMyTrip. They offer pre-existing coverage if you buy it within so many days of FINAL payment. That is the only policy I have seen that does not require that you buy it at time of deposit.
