cctn Posted January 29, 2010 Author #904 Share Posted January 29, 2010 if we can cruise out of SF more often, that means we can visit our neighbors and friends in Or, WA, Canada - ... and also our friends going south of SF... I love that news! carol

cctn Posted January 29, 2010 Author #906 Share Posted January 29, 2010 It can't come too soon for me! :D It'll be so convenient - we won't have to fly - I don't care if we go to the same places, as long as the sailings are more often = driving to and fro SF is so ideal! carol

Hi Karin: Yes, I hope we will have more cruises leaving from SF - I loved being able to drive to LA to sail away, what more of the 55 miles from our place to SF! it'll be great! I notice you were on the Fair Princess - so were we in '95 Alaska cruise SF to SF- that was so convenient. I know there are Princess cruises that do that but I also want the option of other cruise lines - carol

We have left out of SF and done Mexico twice now. Once on the Dawn Princess and once on the Star Princess. So convenient. Last fall we left out of SF and did the Panama. Came home from Ft. Lauderdale. We have left several times out of Long Beach and that is not too bad but would be so nice to have more cruises out of SF.

I remember being on a deck where they couldn't put the twin beds together!!! carol We had the best dinner companions on that cruise. I have never laughed so hard. We all got along so well. Our waiter thought we all had known each other from before. One of the couples we met called their room the "RV". It had bunk beds and was tiny. As I remember our room had twin beds that didn't go together.
cctn Posted January 31, 2010 Author #912 Share Posted January 31, 2010 Karin: that's funny -about the beds that would not go together - I remember reading that they built that ship in 1957 - the closet space was huge tho' and so was the restroom - the room itself was big, just that the beds could not be put together. we met the nicest couple on that cruise too - from the moment we met from having lunch together, we stayed friends since 1995 . carol
surfcitylady Posted March 2, 2010 #913 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Thanks. Now I really feel welcome..lolTahiti and I would not do so well together it sounds like. I would not mind even doing a cruise up the west coast ... San Francisco and Seattle. Do they have those? Maybe start in San Diego and stop in LA and up the coast. Would that not be cool to have an overnight in SF and Seattle both and then back to SD or LA? I would do that in a heartbeat. Maybe they don't do those because the casino would have to be closed while at port all that time. Laura Hi Laura, I am planning to book the Mariner for the anniversary cruise 2011. Two of my sons and I went on the Mariner again last September. They loved it! I loaned my "Inaugural" shirt to one of them and he got many comments and questions! Thanks again for making those shirts, they were a great idea. Will you be doing it again for 2011? I am going on the Infinity for a two week cruise through the Panama canal April 11th (6 weeks away!) This one is for my 75th birthday! We leave from San Diego (one hour drive), then fly home from Ft. Lauderdale. Love Celebrity! They have the best in personal service. CruisinMinnie Posted April 4, 2010 #917 Share Posted April 4, 2010 Hello Left Coasters. Ideally, I would like more west coast ports, ships, cruise lines, itineraries, etc.....Can you tell I don't like flying for hours to reach a port? :D
Aussiemick Posted April 4, 2010 #918 Share Posted April 4, 2010 :) It'd be interesting to gather here and find out how many of us who live on the LEFT Coast - CA, OR, WA... who love to cruise and how often - and when you have completed a cruise, do you then plan another one as a ritual - I DO. Corkey Carol We now live in the Baja so the west coast is most convenient if one doesnt want to fly. I owned a travel agency in Seattle and Goodyear, AZ and flew enough to get my fill. The last time we went to Seattle for a funeral I swore that was as much flying as I could stand at my age, and my last year in the corporate world I posted 70k miles and flew Australia 9 times when with the TA. We did a Mexican Riveria on Princess last year and are doing RC 11 nights next week. Our third Mexico cruise will be HAL that goes part way up the Sea of Cortez. After that, who knows, just so we don't have to fly-might find a Panama Canal that is RT.
cctn Posted April 6, 2010 Author #919 Share Posted April 6, 2010 I hate all the restrictions re: flying - the weight limit on baggages, the extra fees - all the security .. west coast sailings - more of them - would be ideal -- I think we all agree on that.. carol
