smoking policy

Wrong.

Wrong, again.

As posted several times: There are many non-smoking cabins on the Victory. All of the forward port side cabins on the Upper Deck were designated non-smoking cabins by Carnival. There were non-smoking signs posted on the doors to ALL of these cabins when we sailed 11-30-08 / 12-7-08.

Until you have the time and money to saileach and every ship and stay in all the cabins or at least tour all the areas of the ship it is ludicrous to say that smoking is allowed in all of the cabins.

You never did post the pics of those cabin door signs....What's up with that ????

Nope, not gonna do it again. Told you, I didn't take those photos. If I had taken those photos they would be posted. I guess I'll have to go on the Victory again. I'd have to go solo as my wife refuses to board any ship that sails out of Puerto Rico ever again.

Your not gonna let it go are you? How many times and ways does it have to said that even if you saw the signs.... the rooms were smoking because it is a Carnival wide policy that is stated on their website and in cruise documents. IF the cabins had the signs and IF someone wanted to smoke in them they could... as per company policy.

makes a lot of sense you can smoke in your cabin but can't use and iron or light a candle.

Actually, it does since most cigarettes now contain chemicals that actually extinguish the cherry before it can start a fire. Candles and irons don't have this handy, if somewhat annoying, feature.

CC needs to step up and get w/ the program and ban smoking in all public rooms but they won't

And alienate a significant portion of their clientele? Not bloody likely.

I tried finding the answer on carnival's site but only found info on spa suites but what is carnival's smoking policy? we have a balcony- will we be bothered by other's smoking? resturants? ect

thanks Jill

While, I say it is the cost, that is not really the reason that we don't book balconeys. The smoke seems to be pervasive there....as we did have connecting balconies on the Disney Magic! Go figure a ship full of kids and excessive smoke on the balconies! Not so difficult to figure out though...because the parent with health sense didn't want the smoking parent in the cabin with a lit cigarette.

Another thing that appears to be blatant according to these boards is all the stuff that seems to occur on balconies. Noise being one of the issues...but read these threads long enough and you suspect the worst.

Again, I don't believe everything I read on an anonomus website, from my own experience....we stay away from balconies.

I just looked at my Terms and Conditions of Contract and my cruise documents as well as Carnival's website and I can't find anywhere that it is indicated that all cabins are smoking.

The only thing that is mentioned is that Spa cabins are smoke-free.

Please show me the Carnival wide policy....

Is that true? Are smokers really king on Carnival?

What other business lets a few smokers run their business?

After reading the post I think Carnival must be the smokers choice in a cruise line.

The problem is the number of smokers is dropping all the time.

For the smokers, you need to get more folks started.

Do your kids smoke? You should get them started.

Maybe we need a smoking area in the kids club.

We can never have enough smokers or smoking areas.

Remember smokers have rights, and to H*** with everyone else.

What are you going to do when only 5% to 10% of the cruiser smoke?

Just because one person posts that as their opinion does not make it fact.

opinion does not = fact

I hope your right.

We are cruising on the Splendor this month as was hoping to spend some time in the bars onboard.

But it sounds like they will be full of smokers wanting to show everyone they have rights.

Currently the piano bar on the Splendor is non-smoking and apparently it is an experiment. So, hopefully when you cruise that will be one smoke-free bar.

There are other non-smoking bars/lounges as well.

No. Actually, I was chased around the Lido Deck quite a bit for lighting up in the wrong places. I was chased out of certain areas of the casino for smoking. And I didn't even try in places that didn't have ash trays out. I'm kinda used to being restricted to smoking only in certain areas due to the smoking laws where I live and work. And I refuse to smoke in my own house (when I'm off the wagon and smoking full time).

Ban the smoking...leave the Balcony Club ALONE!

That's a great idea...and I mean it...no joke. I would not mind watching you fool around, really...no prude here.......I just don't want to smell your cigarette/cigar smoke.

All kidding aside, I agree with your post.:)

I have never experienced that, and I have travelled with big groups that included smokers.

The Splendor also apparently has more non smoking areas from what I read this week.

Someone posted that because of the more enclosed design with the midship dome, that the Lido deck is considered an interior space and is smoke free on both sides.

When are you going? There is a CC group sailing on the 26th.
