forensicsgirl Posted April 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2009 Just booked the Star Flyer for the December 20th sailing. Can anyone recall what the embark and disembark times were? We're trying to book our flights to Tahiti. Thanks.
Zam Posted April 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2009 We are on the Star Flyer in July (7 days) and we were told the Star Flyer does not depart Papeete until almost midnight. I guess they recently changed the departure time because Air Tahiti Nui changed their flight times. In fact, Star Clippers told us that all those coming from the states, will be on the same flight that arrives in Papeete around 9:30p.m. so we will be embarking and then probably going to bed - it will be a long day but at least we will be on vacation! As for disembarking, the vessel actually gets back to Papeete the night before and they generally have everyone off by 10am the next morning - it goes a lot faster then the usual cruise ships who have 1000's to deal with - lol! I would check with your travel advisor (did you use Star Clippers or a travel agent?) before you commit to any flights as they did adjust the times based on the airlines changes. Good luck! jandar0721 Posted April 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2009 It is a nice idea to arrive in Papatee at least a day before sailing. First you get to enjoy the fab resorts that Star Clippers uses and second, if there is any delay in your travel plans anywhere, then you have some "wiggle" room. Embarkation starts around 4pm. Disembark can be as late as 10am. For disembark, day trips and/or day rooms are available through Star Clippers.
forensicsgirl Posted April 10, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted April 10, 2009 I booked the cruise through Star Clippers. Regardless, I'll verify the times through them. Thank you for the info.
