There are a few hot spots throughout the ship for WiFi. Depending on where the hotspot is you may or may not get a signal in your cabin. You can use dial-up from inside the cabin, but it is super slow. You can go on the rccl.com for pricing packages. I don't recall how much it is off hand.

Which June sailing? We will be on the June 21st sailing.

Life Onboard

Q: Is Internet access available from the ship?

A: Yes, depending on the ship there are two options for staying connected while onboard.

Wireless Internet Access (Wi-Fi)

There will be six designated *"Hot Spots" which vary from ship to ship.

To use our WI-FI access, you'll need:

A laptop

Windows operating system

802.11b Wireless networking capability

The cost for Wi-Fi access through your own laptop is:

Base rate is $.55 per minute or choose from one of our prepaid packages:

$28.00 for 60 minutes

$38.00 for 90 minutes

$55.00 for 150 minutes

All prices are subject to change without notice.

The Internet Cafe/Workstation

These stations provide access to e-mail and the Internet, plus direct connections to favorite websites for stock, sports and entertainment updates. You can also send virtual postcards while at sea, and in ports-of-call worldwide. If you don't have an e-mail account, you can also establish one onboard.

The cost is $.55 per minute or you can choose a prepaid package:

$28.00 for 60 minutes

$38.00 for 90 minutes

$55.00 for 150 minutes

Available onboard all ships.

Prices are subject to change without notice.

Note: I've also read on these boards that you might be able to get on-board internet in your cabin for $100 per week, but I dont have any details on that or whether it's modem or what.

The internet on the ship is VERY slow. It does not matter if you use the ships computers or bring your own...It's VERY slow, thus costly.

If you ask they will give you a list of "Hot Spots for WIFI connection".

Also if the ship is rocking side to side the antenna has a hard time staying on the satilite. It is best to try to use it when it is smooth or you are tied up.

One hot spot I remember is just outside the Pig & Whistle on deck 5.

I found the best time to use it is early in the morning. In the evening too many passengers are useing it and after 1 or 2 in the morning the crews get on.

The Bandwidth is limited so 6 or 7 in the A.M. it seems to work faster.

Good luck with it.

I have used faster dialup service than you get sometimes on the ship.
