We are booking the Sept. 2, 2010 cruise ( Stockholm to Dover). My question is; what is the cost of transferring from Dover where the ship docks to London and or Heathrow airport. We arn't planning on using Oceania's transfers. Thanks, Ron:):)

Ron, I have not done that trip personally. However, if you go to the "ports of call section" of the boards and select Europe and then select "British Isles / Western Europe" there are quite a few threads discussing how to get from Dover to London on your own.

Here are a few that I came across:

Hope these help.

If you use a private limo service, it can get expensive. Suggest you use your browser and search for "limo service from Dover to Heathrow". Try it without the quotation marks.

I did and found that the cost for a sedan that could accommodate 4 people would be in excess of 200 pounds. If that is rather high, suggest you try "transportation from Dover to Heathrow". and see what comes up.

We're on the Regatta 06/2010, but I was interested to see what it would cost both ways. We plan to stay in Dover before the cruise.

Leonid-

If you really want to be a smart shopper, use the Roll Calls for the cruises before and after yours to find out what Limo companies those passengers are using.

Typically, their Limo's would be empty in the "opposite direction", so you can strike a real bargain, because anything that the driver picks up "going home" is pure profit.

The trick is getting the timing right, so that nobody has to sit in the cruiseport or Airport for hours and hours.....but sometimes, the gods are just on your side!

We have had great success doing this- hope it works for you- ;)
