Seattle Post-Cruise 6 days - airport or downtown

We are taking an Alaska cruise that comes into Vancouver. We are then taking Amtrak down to Seattle for a six day stay before heading home. Should we book a hotel downtown near the sights -or- stay near the airport (maybe even extended stay) and shuttle in from the airport (via public transportation - if available)??

 

Any hotel recommendations for either downtown or at the aiport??

No question...stay downtown as the airport hotels are inconvenient to everything but the airport! You can get some great deals on Priceline if you're willing to work for them. We've been getting 3* hotels downtown for $62 - $64/night.
