I know Carnival uses "drink of the day" and I've had "signature drinks" on Royal Carib. as they have signature bars as part of their brand.

I don't know about anyone else, but I come to this board for information etc, not smart alic or sarcastic remarks and I'm really getting fed up with it, seems to be really getting out of hand.
It's a smart alec remark. I didn't see you add any information regarding the (non) difference between the two names for the same thing. Goodbye.

YES, it is. Banning some people just isn't working.

Ok - let's try this again. I understand the difference in spelling signature vs. drink of the day thank you ;)

I received a pointer/tip to take the "signature drink" receipt to the casino for a $5.00 credit and was told not to mistake this "signature drink" with the "drink of the day" and I was looking for clarification from the intelligent CC posters that there is indeed two drink types or is my source mistaken?

...Yes! There is a definite difference! I'll try to explain...

...The "Drink of the Day" (DOD) is just that. Each day on your cruise there will be a cocktail that is usually themed after the port you will be visiting that day. That drink will be noted in your Capers and on little placards carried on the trays of the "wandering" waitstaff.

...The "Signature Drinks" (from what I remember onboard the Valor a couple of weeks ago) were several drinks that were offered at the Casino Bar. They were identified by cards/signs that were placed on the counters of the bar. I don't remember seeing the Signature Drinks offered anywhere else BUT the Casino Bar. These five or six specific drinks were martini/mojito "style" cocktails. If you purchased one of there drinks you were entitles to a $5 "matchplay" chip in the casino, that once added to your own $5 chip, was good for a $10 bet at any even money bet (Blackjack, red/black roulette bet, pass line craps bet) in the Casino. ...Hope this helps...

If you think any board about alcohol is not intended to be fun your maybe putting too much thought into it. As I understand it alcohol makes the decision making process confused therefor we may make "smart alic" (like the spelling) remarks in jest and for fun. I'm concerend with you getting "fed up" as this is not an important subject. Please....PLEASE...try and have a good time. That is what this is all about.

I think there are too many touchy people who take things way too seriously here.

Isn't this all supposed to be about fun? And ban people for what? Being flippant? Sheesh.

No, not for being flippant. There are some people who post comments that are sarcastic and rude, that have nothing to do with a post. They just butt in and make inappropriate remarks. If you have one directed at you, for no reason, you, too might feel the same. It gets old...fast.

Yes, these boards are to have fun, share information and learn. There are some topics that ARE serious. That is when the comments and remarks are especially inappropriate.

Not trying to be touchy.......or take things way too serious, just tired of trying to find out information and nothing but rude remarks.......sometimes the joking is fine, doesn't bother me, but sometimes it is taken way too far. Goodness, don't ask about tipping or insurance, you're sure to get someone that is very rude to respond. If you can't say something nice, then why say why anything at all???.......or if you are just joking, say "just kidding/joking"
