Urban trekker Posted April 17, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 17, 2009 Left Coast - that might be the best way to go to the Island but it is not the cheapest - the cheapest is to use public transit to the ferry - pay the passenger fare on the ferry - then catch public transit on the other side - by the time up all all that up or taking the Pacific Coach lines I doubt there would be much of savings from staying in Vancouver especially if there are a couple of people traveling. If the OP could tell us what hotel and what price range they have found in Victoria perhaps we might be able to suggest some possibilities here in Vancouver. scottbee Posted April 18, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2009 i love vancouver but the hotewl are too dear so decided to stay in victoria. what's the best and cheapest way between the 2 places?dave The best is Floatplane from downtown to downtown, takes 35 minutes and approx $120 http://www.harbour-air.com/ or http://westcoastair.com/ The cheapest is #601/#620 (or #98/#620) bus from Vancouver to Tsawwassen http://translink.bc.ca/ Walk on the ferry http://bcferries.com/ The #70 bus into Victoria http://bctransit.com/ about 4 hours and approx $

But I agree that transit is cheaper and Air is the best downtown to town town. But I still think my answer is the one he was looking for,,, best and cheapest. Urban trekker Posted April 18, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 18, 2009 No problem - I am suffering from an acute attack of Canuckitis - I think you probably know that it is a very contagious fever that seems to be sweeping in near record numbers through the region. The only known remedy is to yell, holler, jump up and down every time the team scores and then to it for a much longer period of time when the team wins. Enjoy your weekend Cheers Dennis
LeftcoastBC Posted April 19, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 19, 2009 UT still can't get all the way back on that Canuck Wagon . :) They need to play some real hockey for a few more games B4 I start to believe again. Waiting since Phil Maloney was playing & then coaching... even being the GM too... Dale who ? was the first Pick !! lol.

DW says "bring back Andy Bathgate and Darcy Rota....at least they had eyes".:D Heck I go back to the old WHL Canucks with Hank Cahan, Phil Maloney, George Gardner (I think he has passed now) he used to marshal at Fraserview...and he did have lenses that looked like inverted Coke bottle bottoms, and Billy McNeill.:)
Urban trekker Posted April 19, 2009 #9 Share Posted April 19, 2009 PD - you forgot the greatest goalie of them all - Tony Esposito - don't age me any more than I am already - I have in my file cabinet the program from the first ever Vancouver Canucks regular season home game and a Stanley Cup final ticket stub from the Canucks - Islanders final from 1982. Speaking of Dale Tallon - isn't he the current GM in Chicago? GO CANUCKS GO!!! Cheers Dennis
LeftcoastBC Posted April 19, 2009 #10 Share Posted April 19, 2009 PD.. DW here was also a great fan of Rota's deep dark pools :) UT.. You are right about Tallon.... but he has some real hockey guys behind him. Rick Dudley and even Bowman as an adviser.
