The Better Choice?

i did and would pick again (if i hadn't just sailed it) ocho rios and grand cayman.

seeing that i just did sail that itinerary, i'd probably pick the eastern, though...

but anyhow, i'd just prefer the western generally. nassau seems to be all about atlantis anymore, and there's not much else there that can't be had in gc/or in terms of expeditions like snorkeling, etc. recent reviews of grand turk (since the hurricane) have been lukewarm on the state of the island outside the cruise terminal with damage to infrastructure, attractions and such... and half moon cay seems nice enough, but it's all about the perfect beach day. i'm not much of a beach person, and being just a land-based extension of the ship doesn't entirely appeal to me for that reason.

PS - capers, maps, shore excursions list pics and review in my signature if you wanna read about my experiences with this cruise. too much to list

So, overall your cruise to Jamaica and Grand Cayman was a hit on the Destiny? Did you like the ship and was it recently upgraded in dry dock?

absolutely. i had an absolute blast and so did the rest of my party and the tons of people we met on board.

i did like destiny. actually, the ship is a little more muted than a lot of the other ships - not as glitzy as the older ships, not as off-the-wall crazy as some of the newer - it's a little more conservative.

there were some pretty extensive updates during dry dock. destiny got the seaside theatre on the lido deck, balconies added to the top deck, new carpet / tile / paint / wallpaper in a bunch of the common areas, circle c teen club added, a new mini golf course installed, and bow-stern wifi access, plus other cosmetic work like deck boards and furniture.

if you've never been to jamaica i'd definitely recommend dunns river falls.
