We sailed Windstar several times prior to its being sold.

Our last cruise was the Monte Carlo, Cannes, Nice which we enjoyed.:) Lurking on this site I noticed some disenchanted PAX that cruised post sale.

We are considering another cruise on Windstar and would appreciate opinions by those who have experienced the transition.

We sailed Wind Surf Venice-Dubrovnik-Venice last September. Food and service were both very good. The shore excursion guy was excellent. Most of the waiters were very friendly, and gave good service.

Our only complaint of any significance was that the ship uses a one week menu, so our second week was of complete duplicate of the first mealwise.

We sailed Windstar both before and after the sale (currently in the process of booking our 7th cruise with them).

We didn't notice any difference in the quality of the cruise apart from the fact that it is now significantly more expensive. But, who knows, the prices may have gone up if Carnival still owned it.

Also, for us booking is more of a problem. We live in Spain and book through a UK agent. Windstar used to have UK offices for booking. Now, everything has to go to Seattle. With 9 hours time difference it means we have to keep waiting for answers to our booking queries.

This will not affect anyone living in US, particularly west coast, but it is not good for European passengers.

:) We have sailed Windstar 11 times, both before and after the sail. Did the Trans Atlantic last Nov. and found it to be every bit as good. In fact the menu di change the second week with some repeated chices. Already booked again for this Nov.

We've done five Windstar cruises. The latest was Oct. 2007 Rome to Barcelona aboard the Windsurf. The food & service are still excellent. We are booked on another next month & are counting the days.

We have also sailed Windstar (mostly Windsurf) pre and post sale. Next month will be our 8th Windstar voyage. We have had really nice experiences (and have made great memories and friends) every time and are anxiously awaiting our trip on Windsurf next month.

Definitely go back!
