mumsup Posted April 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2009 We are heading to Anchorage in early July, and will have 1 1/2 days to explore Anchorage and then get to Whittier for our Princess Cruise. I'm looking for help for we are a family of 6 (2 adults..18,15,and 2 13y/o's) Should we rent a car? Take a limo to Whittier? Any help or ideas would be wonderful!..Thanks
mountainhouse Posted April 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2009 Welcome to Cruise Critic. You might try a search like this, and see if that gives you some ideas.
Budget Queen Posted April 22, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2009 I suggest you FIRST figure out how you want to occupy your short time. Then plan your transfer. IF you want to get sights in Anchorage, then consider a bus/train to Whittier. Consider getting there early to take advantage of a PWS boat tour- a top tour choice. IF you want touring outside of Anchorage, plenty within driving range, then rent a car- with the decision of a one way and going direct to Whittier?? Or round trip Anchorage, then bus/train to Whittier. With your numbers it probably won't be much difference. Two cars would probably work better, but a van "may" be available. Again, figure out what you want to do.
