Italy museum ticket vendor

I've seen two ticket vendors listed for tickets to the Colosseum, Florence museums etc. Omni Ticket - ticetclic.it and Ticketitaly.com. Prices seem to differ. Any comparison comments on these two???

The official site for the Florence museums is here. The ones you list are brokers so they charge extra fees on top of official fees. You can also call and make reservations for the Florence museums and not pay upfront but when you pick up your tickets. You can get the Colosseum tickets at the Capitoline Hill entrance as well as at the Colosseum and there is often a very small line.

thanks. We are going in late October, so hopefully the Colosseum won't be as crowded as summer and I might wait to buy tickets there and save the fees. However, as far as Academia where lines can be long, isn't it worth ticketing in advance? I'd like to do it online rather than calling

If you reserve your tickets for the Florence galleries by telephone, you don't have to pay until you pick them up. You also won't have to wait in the long queue to pick them up. The advance ticket queue is short and moves very quickly. And if for some reason you can't go to Florence, or can't pick up your tickets, you haven't lost any money. I am not sure all the internet ticket vendors will refund your money if you are not able to use the tickets - something to check.

 

The telephone line is very quick and easy to use, and the operators can speak English. Quite painless, really!

The advance ticket queue is short and moves very quickly. And if for some reason you can't go to Florence, or can't pick up your tickets, you haven't lost any money. I am not sure all the internet ticket vendors will refund your money if you are not able to use the tickets - something to check.

I checked the museum's website and it says there is a 3E booking charge, so do they take a credit card over the phone???

If you call they just take the reservation and give you a confirmation number, you pay 15 minutes before your reservation time in cash when you pick up your tickets. When you call they also have more times available than what you see from the website, which is good if you want a before noon reservation. The best part is that if you can't make it for some reason, you aren't out any money.
