Which ports are best for snorkeling?

cabo has some good snorkeling in chileno bay, or lovers beach,

we usually just bring our own gear,

 

since you are going with kids do the dolphin encounter !! we just did it last week in PV, AMAZING our daughter whos 8 loved it !! so worth the 99$ per person..

We would say 1) Cabo or 2) Mazatlan; because pv has so much other great stuff to see and do. Cabo, 1st time, it would seem great to see it by boat, and a snorkel thrown in (google pez gato catamaran). 2nd choice: Mazatlan, it would seem cool to do it on the outside breakwater at Stone Island, if you are doing stone island. The Mex Riviera does not have world class snorkel, but folks are attracted to doing it.

Stone Island beach is on the far side of the land in the rear of pic. The rocks that would seem good are along the other side of breakwater (land going to the right, harbor is on this side)

September might be not the best month for snorkeling. Due to the rainy season the water coming from the mountains the ocean might not be very clear.
