Can one of you very knowledgeable cruisers please tell me if you need visas for Korea, Taiwan or Japan. We are UK passport holders

 

We are intending to "do" these calls on our own and wonder if we will have to purchase visas from the ship.

We recently visited Okinawa and Taiwan on Diamond Princess and did not need to purchase visas. Japanese immigration procedures are very stringent and it took some time to process all the passengers.

No Visas required for the places you mentioned, however you will have to fill immigration forms and as statedpreviously the Japanese process takes a bit longer with fingerprint scanning. Enjoy, we have been there in September and February.
