DubbC Posted April 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2009 Hi All, its our firsy cruise on May 31. Were aboard Voyager on the med stopping off at Naples, Civitavecchia, Livorno, Villefrenche, and Marseilles. We have a few ideas of things to do in each port but my question is which of the above ports would be nice to just get off the ship and just wander around for a few hours just some light shopping and a coffee without the hustle and bustle of touring. PS. is anybody else onboard this cruise as i cant find many threads on it???

I've been to all of the ports except Marseilles. Villefrenche was a great little town to walk around. I can't say much for shopping because I don't shop, but there were little cafes and a nice place to take it easy and not worry about touristing. There isn't much to do in Civitavecchia or Livorno other than get onto a tour bus and go to Rome or Florence. In Naples, we had a late tour and decided to explore the city. It took us a half-an-hour to cross the street in front of the pier. We found out later that Naples has notoriously bad traffic and is not pedestrian friendly.
