MaxH Posted May 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2009 We're sailing on the Paul Gauguin on 7/4, and I've heard that the onboard WiFi is both slow and overpriced. However, I can use my iPhone as a wireless access point for my laptop whenever I have a 3G signal. Has anyone used their iPhone or other AT&T phone for data from the various ports? That would definitely be cheaper, and probably faster, from what I hear.
MaxH Posted May 3, 2009 Author #2 Share Posted May 3, 2009 Never mind, I found it. For those with the same question, it's $2.49/min aboard the PG for voice calls, and $0.0195/KB for data; for details (including voice, even though it says laptop/data), go here: http://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/solutions/wireless-laptop/connections-coverage.jsp#IC
MaxH Posted May 3, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted May 3, 2009 Oh, and voice calls in FP are $3.49/min normally, or $2.29/min if you pay $5/mo (which I might do just for this trip, just in case we have an emergency or other issue back home and want to talk on the phone a lot).
