Oahu: Surfing

Does anyone have any personal experience with either of these 2 surf schools on Oahu: Hawaiian Fire or Hans Hedemann? Will be in Waikiki and want to do a surf lesson, but am not sure which one to choose . . . Thanks.

My son 10 years old did the Hawaiian Fire in October. Awesome experience. The site they teach you at is quite a way away from Waikiki beach but once your there you will understand why they go there. The instructors are top notch and very friendly and patient. I would definatley use them again.

Don't have personal experience with either but both come highly recommended. The important thing to remember is the point that TylerG brings up. Hans teaches in Waikiki while the Hawaiian Fire Surf School teaches pretty far away and shuttles you to the location. Great beginners surf and you won't be surrounded by 18 million people as you try to learn how to surf but the entire process will be longer as a result.
