Sheffie Posted May 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2009 We have been over to St. John to Cinnamon Bay and LOVE it. The current does get a little strong in the afternoon, though. We are looking at going to Coki this time and wonder what your thoughts are on this choice. We love to snorkel, and our friends love to lie on the beach. Will we be happy or will we regret not going over to St. John? If Cinnamon were closer, there would be no choice!
The Islander Posted May 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Coki is good for snorkeling and for hanging on the beach. As far as scenery... Cinnamon Bay is much longer, bigger beach. Coki is a very small beach. Cinnamon Bay is a National Park beach so it is maintained accordingly - including the surrounding area. The area right around Coki Beach is a bit seedy, the beach itself is pretty. You might try looking at a beach guide for St. Thomas to check some information and photos to help with your decision: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=st.+thomas+beach+guide&fr=yfp-t-305&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8. --Islander
Sheffie Posted May 7, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Thanks, Islander. I had looked at the USVI guide and saw where they said that Coki had better snorkeling than Sapphire, which had been our first choice for on St. Thomas. Thanks for the added description. Our friends are just beach people, and the recent reviews on the smell at Coki will probably help to make our choice. Thanks for all the great links!
