ebonybee Posted May 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2004 Recently returned from 11 day cruise on Brilliance of the Seas. Just wanted to report the vigilance of the the RCCL "Deck Patrol." They were on the job-reserve chairs at your own risk. Apparently they selected personnel that are not easily intimidated because they had no problem removing things from chairs or asking children with or without parents to leave the adult pool area. I'm a previous Celebrity fan-now a RCCL convert and notice that many of the chair hogs had Celebrity beach bags The question I have-with the great amount of deck space and chairs on Radiance class ships, why are people trying to reserve them anyway? caviargal Posted May 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2004 I am so happy to hear this! I had a particularly bad sailing on Granduer 2 years ago due to deck chair hogs and kids all in places they did not belong. The staff did nothing. Hats off to Brilliance staffers for not making passengers suffer due to the inconsiderate actions of others. ENJINOK Posted May 3, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 3, 2004 They had a Deck Patrol person on The Splendour this past week.. He really enforced no drinks in the pool! Lots of people had to get out. He also was watching the kids in the pool to make sure their parents were right there. I didn't see him clear off any deck chairs, although he seemed the type to just throw the stuff over board if he thought it was warrented!!
