DonnaK Posted May 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2009 Also, are there any recommended inexpensive hotels near the airport or the pier?
JohninDC Posted May 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2009 Cabs are a flat rate - about $25; shuttle service is also available. Trip from the airport to port takes about 15-20 minutes unless you hit traffic problems. Good luck!:)
timekeeper95 Posted May 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2009 We bid a 4 star on priceline and ended up at the Grand Hyatt Tampa bay, they have an airport shuttle and picked us up. The cab from the hotel to the pier (with a wine stop) was $23. After the cruise we had some time and visited the aquarium across the street from the cruise terminal, the cab back from the cruise area to the airport was $25 flat rate. If you look on betterbidding and biddingfortravel you can snag a good priceline deal!

NHRedSoxFan Posted May 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 8, 2009 We stayed at the La Quinta near the Tampa airport. When you land you use the courtesy phone at baggage claim to call the hotel. The shuttle picked us up in about 10 minutes - no charge for pick up. We paid $79 + tax for the night. When we checked in we told them we wanted to take the shuttle bus to the ship. They add your name to the list and the guy who sells the shuttle tickets ($10 pp) is at the continental breakfast area. You pay him. The bus to the ship leaves at 11 am. We were on the ship by noon.
