HarperSays Posted May 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2009 When completing the pre-registration information on Carnival's website, specifically our passport information, how would I find what the "City of Issuance/Authority" is for our passports? Would this be where we applied, or where our passports came from?
Ali-in-Texas Posted May 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2009 I entered where our passports were processed. It shows the city on the passport itself.
HarperSays Posted May 7, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Thank you - do you know where exactly this information is located on our passports? I apologize for the stupid questions, but we looked our passports over and over last night and could not find this answer!
dserban Posted May 7, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2009 It doesn't always have a City name. It could say "Department of State" or "Passport Authority". That will be on the same page where your name and address are.
Ali-in-Texas Posted May 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2009 On the page with your picture it says: Authority and underneath that ours says: Charleston Passport Center I just assumed this is the city they are asking for.
AlanFromFL Posted May 7, 2009 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2009 It doesn't always have a City name. It could say "Department of State" or "Passport Authority".That will be on the same page where your name and address are. Our passports say "National Passport Center", with no additional city, so that's what I always indicate. It's never been an issue for us.
Caligirl33 Posted May 7, 2009 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Mine said Issed in California, so I entered California.
HarperSays Posted May 7, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted May 7, 2009 I will check ours again tonight and put whatever it says, even if it does not indicate a city. Thanks everyone for your help!
eric813 Posted May 7, 2009 #9 Share Posted May 7, 2009 I asked Carnival about this about a week ago and they said it is all handled by the department of State now and that is what should be entered. It seems older passports indicate a city while newer onces do not. HarperSays Posted May 7, 2009 Author #12 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Ours say Dept of State also, so that's what I'll go with. Thanks everyone!
LemurCat Posted May 7, 2009 #13 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Dept. of State works just fine. There are 8 regional passport centers that issue documents. The issuing center used to be listed on the passport but it no longer is.
corolla3tc Posted May 7, 2009 #14 Share Posted May 7, 2009 My funpass accepted the city of the post office where I submitted my application. The field where that info is entered must not be too picky.

And I'm now tempted to start entering fictional places in that field ... :D
DMKahlan Posted May 7, 2009 #16 Share Posted May 7, 2009 And I'm now tempted to start entering fictional places in that field ... :D LOL. I always put the city where I sent it off from. I supposed you could put anything in there and get away with it.
