Statue of Liberty's crown reopening

According to an article on USA Today, the Statue of Liberty's crown will reopen to the public on July 4 of this year.

That's great!!! But, it sucks, too. We'll be in NYC on June 13th and plan to go to Lady Liberty. We'll miss the Crown opening! Well, I guess that means that we'll just have to cruise out of NYC again next year!!! (twisting my arm.....)

It sounds neat.. but, they are holding a lottery and only allowing 30 people up each hour. So, even if you stand in the huge lines, you have a small chance of going up! :(

Good to know! We aren't going until next Feb but had already decided against getting off at Liberty Island as we will have limited time and DH would rather visit Ellis Island. I am looking forward to great photo ops of Lady Liberty though!
