Menus???

After reading the favorite foods thread, are the menus the same for most ships from most ports? This is our first time cruising RCL and would like to plan out chops and not miss a good meal in the MDR.

 

could you also post a link to the menus... have not been able to find them.

Hi, there's one for you, from what I've read on here the menus seem to be standard fleet wide.

12 NIGHT MENUS – ORDER SUBJECT TO CHANGE (AS OF MARCH 09)

 

Night 1:

 

Strawberry, kiwi, pineapple medley

Vidalia Onion Tart (a favorite!)

Smoked Fish Tapenade

Tortilla Soup (very good)

Hot & Sour Shrimp Soup

Chilled watermelon gazpacho (watermelon and slight cucumber flavor…nice!)

Caesar salad

Spinach Salad

 

Shrimp Ravioli

Linguini with Marinara Sauce

Pan Seared Salmon

Filet of Atlantic Cod

Pan fried pork medallions

Chicken with seasonal herbs

Prime Rib

Black Angus top sirloin

Grilled Mediterranean quesadilla

Aloo Gobi Methi

 

Strawberry Pavlova (excellent)

Chocolate Cherry cake

Savarin

Low fat blueberry/peach cobbler ala mode (low fat??? VERY good!)

Sugar free chocolate pot de crème

 

NIGHT 2 –Captain’s Gala

 

Orange Carpaccio

Shrimp cocktail

Escargot

Lobster bisque

Oxtail Broth

Chilled golden pear soup (usually good, but VERY watery this time)

Caesar salad

 

Truffeled wild mushroom linguini Alfredo

Linguini with Marinara

Golden Sea bass

Roast Duck

Chicken breast with herbs

Filet of Beef

Black angus top sirloin

Eggplant mozzarella tower

Potato Curry

 

Grand Marnier Soufflé (the “RULES” say you MUST order this!)

Double strawberry cheesecake

Cherries jubilee (the “RULES” say you get this too, and share with your friend!)

Low fat strawberry cheesecake

Sugar free coconut vanilla cake

 

 

 

Night 3

 

Watermelon salad with feta

Duck salad

Breaded fried shrimp

Cream of Vidalia onion soup (good)

Chilled Sweet red pepper soup

Beef broth with vermicelli (very good, but those noodles are hard to get on the spoon!)

Iceberg wedge

 

Veal osso buco

Farfalle puttanesca

Pan fried salmon

Chicken piccata (very good, not dried out!)

Chicken with herbs

Black angus top sirloin

Bermuda onion and Potato tart

Mattar Curry

 

Strawberry Napoleon (skip this! Not very good!)

Chocolate marquise

Bailey’s Irish Cream Cheesecake

Low fat peach/apple cobbler (very good, makes up for 2 desserts on formal night!)

Sugar free lime basil parfait (frozen mousse)

 

 

Night 4

 

Exotic fruits with mojito jelly (mojito ‘jello’ with rum & mint, and papaya, mango & pineapple-nice!)

Beef and Veal Tortellacci

Jalapeno Potato Soup (delicious)

Chicken Consommé (has crepe fettuccine-good!)

Chilled cranberry-mango soup

Caesar Salad

Seasonal Salad

 

Penne Tarantine

Penne with Marinara

Cornmeal dusted tilapia (excellent)

Filet of Atlantic Salmon

Parmesan crusted Turkey Tenderloin

Chicken with Seasonal Herbs

Slow roasted beef shoulder filet (very tender)

Choca-chino trilogy (3 little chocolate desserts)

BBB – banana-Bailey’s brulee (tasted fine but it sort of melted)

NIGHT 5 – Get out there Night

Penne marinara

Baked Perch

Filet of Atlantic Cod

Royal Sirloin (over vegetables, with tapenade-the steak was pretty good)

Black angus sirloin

Vegetable paella

Maharani Dal

 

Crème Catalan (orange flavored, excellent)

Spanish orange-almond cake

Chocolate hazelnut truffle torte (basically chocolate pie-not very good-just like something in WJ)

Low fat French apple flan (apples on pastry-more like tarte tatin than flan!)

Sugar free chocolate panna cotta

 

Day 6-Caribbean night (good day for alternative dining)

 

Papaya, leechee and water chestnut salad

Smoked salmon Carpaccio

Breaded mushrooms (yummy)

Mulligatawny soup

Shellfish saffron consommé

Chilled orange banana soup (very good)

Caesar salad

Tomato salad

 

Baked cheese cannelloni

Spaghetti with marinara

Pan seared tilapia (again!)

Pan fried pork medallions (and they had 2 kinds of pork at lunch in WJ!)

Night 7 – 2nd formal (also good night for alternative dining! We skipped!!)

Panko crusted catch of the day (PROBABLY tilapia-didn’t see the chef fishing)

Ivory chocolate fondue (basically white chocolate pudding with berries…nothing FONDUE about it)

DAY 8

Vegetable Samosas (very very good)

Cream of Cauliflower soup (excellent)

Beef consommé Royal with Truffeled royal custard

Boston lettuce salad

Thai style shrimp (very good-not spicy)

Filet of Atlantic salmon

Buttermilk fried chicken (on the bone)

Black angus sirloin Oscar with crab meat, béarnaise sauce and asparagus

Cappuccino layer cake (very good)

Day 9 – British night (pretty good-would not skip this one!)

 

Duo of melon and grapefruit with dry sherry and pickled ginger

Baby shrimp salad

English Cheddar cheese sticks (fried and yummy with lingonberry sauce)

Lentil and Root vegetable soup

Cock a leekie soup (chicken broth with rice, leeks and prunes-sounds unusual, tasted very good)

Chilled Cherry bisque (very good)

Caesar salad

Garden salad

 

Singapore Noodles – rice noodles with vegetables and pork, Asian sauce and shrimp skewer

Fettuccine Marinara

Sole Meuniere – with lemon butter sauce, horseradish mashed potatoes and zucchini

Atlantic Salmon

Roast chicken with sage and onion stuffing, peas, carrots, sautéed potatoes and au jus

Chicken breast with seasonal herbs

Mustard crusted Roast Beef with potato gratin, vegetables and au jus (more like pan gravy, VERY good-one of the best meals)

Black angus top sirloin

Yukon gold potato pie

Masala Dal

 

Chocolate bread pudding

English Trifle

Pecan butterscotch tart (eh…not bad, not great)

Low fat poached pears (in brandied red wine)

Sugar free pineapple upside down cake (really dry…..)

 

Day 10 – Italian night

 

Caprese salad (fresh mozzarella and tomatoes)

Antipasti

Scallop risotto

Creamy Roasted Garlic Soup (very good as always)

Minestrone (good)

Chilled strawberry bisque

Caesar Salad

Insalata mista (mixed greens, zucchini, sweet red peppers and olives)

 

Rigatoni with chorizo

Rigatoni marinara

Garlic tiger shrimp (yum)

Filet of Atlantic Salmon

Chicken marsala (excellent)

Grilled chicken with seasonal herbs

Lamb shank

Black angus sirloin

Vegetarian Chili

Warm chocolate cake (kind of dry-not as good as usual-really needed the vanilla ice cream)

Low fat angel food cake with strawberries

NIGHT 11 – 3rd formal (this menu is generally good, but it was very hit and miss for us)

 

Sun-ripened pineapple

Citrus cured salmon

Creamed wild mushrooms in puff pastry

Cream of asparagus soup

Double duck consommé

Roasted peach soup

Caesar salad

House salad

 

New England bay scallops and ziti

Ziti with marinara

Fisherman’s platter (shrimp and lobster tail – usually very good, but on this night, just OK)

Filet of Atlantic salmon

Thai BBQ chicken breast with jasmine rice

Chicken breast with seasonal herbs

Prime Rib of beef (a little too much gristle on this particular occasion)

Black angus top sirloin

Asian fried tofu

Kabuli chaba

 

Dessert sampler – three mini versions of other desserts including savarin, cheesecake and warm chocolate cake

Low fat berry mousse

Sugar free berry tart

 

NIGHT 12: The last night…Feast of Nations

 

Roasted red pepper hummus

Roasted pumpkin and apple soup

Onion soup

Chilled berry and buttermilk soup

Sugar free key lime pie (mousse inside, not custard as it says on menu, not very good)
