Can anyone make recommendations as to your best snorkeling in Bermuda? :) If you are docked in St. George's, then go to Tobacco Bay. That is actually walkable or they have special vans. If you are docked in the Dockyard, then you can take a taxi to Church Bay. Excellent snorkeling but it the bay can have some rough currents. Also, within a quick walk of the ships at the Dockyard is the Snorkel Park. It is free to enter and they rent snorkel gear. For better snorkeling, swim farther out at this location. Have fun! How far out at snorkel park do you have to swim? What can you see out there, fish - coral?
VonChap Posted May 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 13, 2009 How far out at snorkel park do you have to swim? What can you see out there, fish - coral? Not that far out really. You need to make sure that you get out past the splashing of other visitors and some of the water sports that they have in the park. ("iceburg" climbing wall, etc) The water is pretty calm without waves and not very deep. Snorkel Park is a man-made park. So, there is not a lot of natural coral. I have seen some great fish there--including some huge parrot fish.
