CathyCruises Posted May 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2009 You are probably referring to Trip Advisor. Hotels for $100/night in Venice will be tough to find, but Trip Advisor is a good start. What kind of 'city pass' are you looking for? I guess I don't understand that or a 'hotel and land pass' are. Both Venice and Barcelona are very easy to get around in, Venice by walking or taking the water bus (vaporetto) and Barcelona by metro/walking. Many of the major sites (Las Ramblas, the Gothic Quarter, Sagrada Familia) are close in and easily accessed.
irv54 Posted May 14, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted May 14, 2009 Thanks many cities have what is called a city pass. They vary from 1 - 7 days. They charge one price for the pass and you get free public transportation and free admission to selected attractions and museum. We have found them in many major cities. I have not seen one for Venice. europe http://www.traveltoe.com/index.php/cPath/67 US http://www.citypass.com/press/reviews/29/35-Hot-Tips-For-Summer-Savings.html Some hotels offer packages with the room eg. New York city hotels offer show and room packages I know about trip advisor but i also like suggestions from this board

DoniaG Posted May 15, 2009 #7 Share Posted May 15, 2009 You might also pick up copies of Rick Steves' books on those two cities. He lists reasonably priced hotels and restaurants, and great walking tours.
