SEB81 Posted May 4, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Will be sailing this summer to Europe for 12 days on Royal Caribbean. Does anyone know how many formal nights, semi-formal nights and casual nights there will be on the ship?
Samet822 Posted May 4, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2004 There are two formal nights. Unfortunately, I have heard that the smart casual and casual nights seem to blend together, but I believe there are 2 or 3 smart casual. These cruises are so port intensive that I understand many people don't change after being in port. We have late seating, so I know we will clean up and change. We sail in three weeks. Fredrik Posted May 4, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2004 From RCCL:s website: Dress Suggestion During the day, casual clothes are fine for the main dining room. In the evening, there are three distinct types of dress onboard: casual, smart casual and formal. 3 to 4-night cruises include one formal night and two or three casual nights. 7-night cruises include two formal nights, one smart casual night and four casual nights. 10, 11, and 12-night cruises include three formal nights and three smart casual nights; all other nights are casual. 14 and 15-night cruises include three formal nights and four smart casual nights. All other nights are casual. Suggested guidelines for these nights are: Casual: Sport shirts and slacks for men, sundresses or pants for women Smart Casual: Jackets and ties for men, dresses or pantsuits for women Formal: Suits and ties or tuxedos for men, cocktail dresses for women Bare feet or bathing suits are not allowed at any time in the dining room and shorts are not permitted at dinner. Each ship also offers a variety of casual dining options, for example, the Windjammer Café. Alexis Posted May 4, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Hi, I just copied this below from the RCCL website. It gives you the answer for all the cruises and ships. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/search/processSearch.do;jsessionid=0000R1qTsbLE5wVP2Ce5b7N0GaV:v2krl5v8? I just asked "How many formal nights on a ___ day cruise? We did the 11 night in November and there were only two formal. We rented a tux and we had it for two formal nights. Can anyone post who just got off of a longer cruise if this is correct, or have they changed it? Thanks [This message was edited by Alexis on 05-04-04 at 03:58 PM.]
snshn3 Posted May 4, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 4, 2004 I keep reading different things. The internet says 3 but everybody I have asked says 2 nights are formal. I am not sure which one to believe?? cougfan Posted May 5, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 5, 2004 I am very interested in this answer also. We are going on the Brilliance 12 night Med/Greece cruise in October. The RCI website says 3 formal and 3 smart casual, but I have read other answers on this board that say there are 2 formal and 2 smart casual. Maybe someone who is on one of the Med. cruises for May could answer when they get back. Julie RCI Brilliance OTS 10/17/2004
