Mrs.Linarcos Posted May 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2009 I have a question, I'm sure most of you go on the bigger lines. What I want to know is; have any of you been on the DISCOVERY SUN out of Port Everglades and have you ever gotten interior photos of her? I'm looking for interior photos, thank you for your kind assistance.

tragicdesign Posted May 21, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 21, 2011 I actually have a few interior pictures of this ship. I have some of one of the cabins, too. Is there a good way to post them on Cruise Critic?
rlsii488 Posted June 11, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2011 I have been on the Discovery Sun a few times. Where she is not a 5 star ship, she is a very pleasant ship. As a matter of fact, we are leaving on her on June 16th for a long weekend in the Bahamas. I would have to recommend the VIP package they offer. The dinner for this is fabulous, you are treated as if you were on one of the other cruise lines in the formal dining room. The only plus is, you don't have to dress for it. resistk Posted August 30, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 30, 2011 Discovery Sun is a classic, been on her maybe 10 times to Freeport and back, just make sure you don't go when the weather is rough and make sure to eat in the restaurant not the buffet (it is well worth the extra charge). The cabins are OK. But don't expect a modern cruise ship, she was built in maybe 1968 for the Baltic run and quickly switched over to the Bahamas and been there ever since. The casino is pretty good too and liquor (bottle) prices are even better than those in Freeport. Staff is generally top notch.
