Pre-Cruise in Seattle and Alaska mosquitos

We are taking Celebrity out of Seattle in early August. We want to stay a few days in Seattle prior to sailing. Ant ideas on a good B&B or nice, reasonable hotel not terribly far from Pier 66?

Also, how bad are the mosquitos in Alaska and what REALLY works to deter them?
