happy cruzin Posted May 18, 2009 #53 Share Posted May 18, 2009
Quite honestly I would prefer ALL items put on my plate... then only hands touching the serving utensils would be gloved... some ships have people stationed at the dessert bars/areas giving you a slice or cup... whatever.
Agreed :D. Traveler353 Posted May 18, 2009 #54 Share Posted May 18, 2009 I like my bacon well cooked, crispy. On the Holiday a couple of weeks ago the bacon was rare at best. They were passing it out as others have posted. I stayed with the sausage and ham.
jks336 Posted May 18, 2009 #55 Share Posted May 18, 2009 hey katie, i do agree, just like the casinos i've gone to they have non smoking area. i'm a smoker but feel the non smokers should have that right as well. i can handle the no smoking at dining, i just step out lol. and thankfully there is a lounge or two that allow smoking. :)

I know I have seen people taking waayyy more than they could eat from the buffet.
She is right. I have seen WHOLE sandwiches, burgers & hotdogs UNTOUCHED on peoples dirty plates. lukegr Posted May 18, 2009 #57 Share Posted May 18, 2009
Do you pick through a cookie tray to find the one cookie that has the most chocolate chips? It's a buffet. Cooked to order food is available in the dining room. Sometimes the whole tray used to be raw. Because the new system is cutting down on waste, the cooks stand a better chance of keeping up with demand. I find the bacon they are serving to you these days is actually cooked.
Not everyone likes the most cooked bacon.. Last time I checked people had different tastes. Just because it's a buffet doesn't mean you can't eat what you like.

yakdaddy42 Posted May 19, 2009 #60 Share Posted May 19, 2009 I'm sorry for bacon police. It's all my fault, I was picking my raw bacon and bacon bits with my hand on the left side of the ship while smokeing a cigar after cutting in line with my rum runner drink at 7 am. To make it worse matters worse, my kid was running wild in a pack of unruley chair hogging water rats in the adult area. please forgive me have a great week everyone. And the twice cursed line jumper bacon picker might as well stay in bed.

Were they driving a forklift? Did they have one of those Costco carts? Did they take the whole container, what?
Familyforce6 Posted May 19, 2009 #63 Share Posted May 19, 2009 I hope this is not a thread hijack.....but if you eat breakfast in the dining room, can you order as much bacon as you want? Or do you have to be a bacon begger' like the Lido buffet folks?? You may falsely accuse one person now and then, but the majority of time you'll be right.

A typical bacon order might be small for some people.

You take the average weight of each slice of bacon multiply that by quantity then divide by the actual height of the person eating it taking into account how close you are to the equator then you carry........Oh never mind it is much harder than I thought sorry can't help you on this one.
