Party Teacher Posted May 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2009 We'll be totally "shuttle" dependent in a few weeks in Denali. I'd like to get an idea of how much time to budget in getting from the McKinley Chalet to the Wilderness Access Center for a 8:00a.m. park shuttle. Also, will the hotel shuttle take us to the Salmon Bake, the Visitor Center, the train station etc.? Is there a schedule out anywhere? Any ideas on how we can get lunch for the park shuttle? Is Subway within walking distance of the Chalet? PT
Budget Queen Posted May 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2009 You need to contact them direct and get the current information. In the past the lodge shuttle buses, would not start in time for getting you to a before 8am Park Shuttle bus. Only other option is walking the mile+++. There are shuttles to all your list, but limited on frequency. Subway is walkable, IF you have no mobility limitations. Open 24/7. You need to consider getting in line for a Park Shuttle bus about 30 mins. prior, so for that, IF a lodge shuttle bus happens to be running then you would want to consider leaving about 7:15am. IF walking, then earlier.

JerseyJaguar Posted May 21, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2009 According to Salmon Bake's website, they have their own shuttle to take people back to hotels at night.
Mrsosci Posted May 24, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2009 There was a shuttle leaving Denali Bluffs Hotel last summer to visitor center at 7AM. There were also shuttle trips to Subway and other hotels in area. Times were about every hour. Mrsosci
