Emerald Princess room service breakfast for early port days

Hi,

We're leaving very soon on the Emerald Princess Baltic cruise. Does anyone know how they are about doing an early room service breakfast for early tour mornings? We haven't sailed on Princess before: HAL was great about room service breakfasts but Carnival really seemed to discourage them. The St Petersburg tours leave very early. Also, if we end up stuffing our pockets with fruit or something can we take it on the buses? We are not doing a ship shore excursion but rather through another company. Thanks for any info.

Unless you are in a full suite the room-service breakfast is "Continental". Your stateroom steward will leave you a card each evening to fill out and hang on your door. The card lists time frames, ie. 700a-730a; 730a-800a, etc BUT you can write in anytime you need service. We have never had a problem with putting 630a or sometimes even 600a on the card and service has always been prompt.

As others have stated usually taking food off the ship is a no-no. Princess doesn't care but most foreign countries have laws about bringing food, particularly agriculture products, shoreside.

Room Service breakfast is the only thing I can think of that is better on HA. There is no hot breakfast served on Princess like eggs, bacon, etc. It is only continental, but the balcony prices, the ambience onboard, and other services plus the number of show lounges and wonderful crew members make Princess our choice. Hope you enjoy Princess too!
