Turndown service first night

Recommended Posts

Have just returned from a 4 night sailing on Independence. 2nd time I have done this trip. Had excellent time. All good. However was surprised that we did not have a full turn down service on the first night. Steward popped in presumably just after muster at about 4.30 to remove the day cushions and popped back about 5.30 to say hello and he would see us tomorrow. Normally they come in while at dinner to change towels, clean cups etc. He did all the other nights. This is not a complaint just curious to hear if this is a new thing.

Maybe they've discovered that most cabins don't require any service the first night because the occupants haven't been in there very long. Most passengers are busy exploring the ship, etc. and haven't used any towels. Just a theory....?

We were on Voyager in April and didn't have turn down service every night. Didn't seem to be any rhythm or reason. Didn't have towel animals every night either. Some nights, animals and no turn down, some nights animals and turn down and some nights nothing.

Oh well, it was a cruise and it was great.
