flipflops84 Posted June 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2009 We are booked on a Princess cruise in a few months and we also just booked on the new Norwegian Epic. On Norwegian they give you $100 OBC merely for paying your deposit w/ an AMEX --> are there any similar "easy" ways to get OBC w/ Princess? We are new to Princess and don't know the ins and outs just yet. Thanks! :o
paul929207 Posted June 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2009 There are two ways I know of to get OBC from Princess: 1. While on a Princess cruise purchase a Future Cruise Credit. They cost $100. They count as your $100 deposit for a cruise and you get $25 to $150 OBC depending on the cabin location and the length of the cruise. 2. Own 100 or more shares of Carnival Corporation. This works with all the Carnival Corp cruise lines.
Toto2Kansas Posted June 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2009 OR, find a TA that has the OBC offered with the booking you are looking for. Booking direct with Princess rarely gets you a shipboard credit (unless as mentioned above), but TA's often give shipboard credit when you book. Plus, remember, TA's still allow discounting of Princess cruises and you should be able to save anywhere from 5-20% (over Princess pricing on most cruises) with a TA (depending on length of sailing and stateroom type booked of coarse). Good Luck!
flipflops84 Posted June 1, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted June 1, 2009 ^^^ Thanks for the tips! Our TA gave us $50 which isn't terrible, but I didn't want to miss out on a deal if there was one out there! We have a BC category balcony. How much OBC does owning 100 shares of Carnival stock get you? That's interesting!
Toto2Kansas Posted June 1, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Being a shareholder, the OBC is based on the number of days of your cruise. This site will explain it all: http://media.corporate-ir.net/media_files/irol/14/140690/shareben.pdf But I wouldn't suggest buying stock just for the credit unless you either sail a lot with CCL OR want to invest, no matter what. Many years this credit was not combineable with other credits, but last year, and this year it is. ;) Good Luck!
Debbie42467 Posted June 1, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2009 You can redeem points with the Princess Cruise Visa Credit Card for OBC. Debbie
