Smoking In The Serenity Area Of The New Dream ???

I am sailing on the new Dream on her first cruise out of Port Canaveral. I see it is two decks. Decks 14 & 15 forward. Although they skirt the Spa area on deck 14 (which is nonsmoking) they are not highlighted as nonsmoking. On deck 14 they even have a bar in this area of the Dream.

So the question is for anyone who uses the Serenity area on ships that have them, is the starboard side of Serenity areas smoking?

This is just a guess...but logic would follow that if the entire Spa area (cabins and balconies) are non smoking....this area may be as well.

The reasoning would be that even though the Starboard side is separated from the Port side...that "second level" may get any smoke that rises....

This is where the mini golf was on the Splendor.....and while the upper deck is elevated...it is still "open".

However, I can not see them not having both decks non smoking...so (again if I had to guess) IF they allow smoking, it would be the upper level on one side.

Also be aware that IF they used the same "covered Lido" layout (like on the Splendor) then all of Lido will be nonsmoking as well. On the Splendor, smoking was allowed on deck 10 and 11 on the Starboard side.

Not smoking by the pool on the Splendor took some getting used to. Anyone who had cruised a Carnival ship before was used to one side of the pool being nonsmoking and one side allowing it. But since that pool is covered by a retractable roof...they considered it 'Inside" living space...and no smoking was allowed.

What do you mean by "highlighted"? Is there somewhere you are looking where it tells you what the smoking and non smoking areas are? Would be interested to see that.

He is talking about the Spa Cabin area on the Splendor and Dream that have the areas marked as non-smoking.

This is not done throughout the ship....just for the cabins affected so that a smoker does not accidently book at Spa Cabin Interior or Balcony that they can not smoke in or on.

Although the designated smoking areas are fairly consistant from ship to ship.

You can almost always count on the Disco and cover band lounge...as well as the casino and piano bar (although from time to time they have these as nonsmoking for a day or two...this varies from ship to ship).

Also be aware that during the day, if Camp Carnival is using a designated smoking area....it becomes a non smoking area for the duration of their usage.
