Rare HeinBloed Posted June 6, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2009 Is it just a short easy walk or will a txi be required? Port website says it is 2km from city centre but that seems past the museum area. No from the cruise terminal it's about 5 km: Origin: Columbuskaje 1 Destination: Hans-Scharoun-Platz 1 According to http://www.viamichelin.de more than 1 hour walk... As you have not mentioned on which day you are in Bremerhaven: The next bus stop is 21 minutes away from the cruise center. It's a bus on demand so I hope that you have some German language skills to order the bus: 0471/3003 555 (45 minutes before scheduled departure) and then you have a transfer to a public bus. Total transit time incl. walk to the bus stop: one hour... so you can easily walk directly to the museum. On weekend the situation is worse. So best would be to take a cab or if your cruise line offer a shuttle: take it. By the way: if you are on MSC - Bremerhaven is embarkation port for German cruisers: I am sure they made arrangements for their guests. From the Central Station it's about 2 km apart. minke Posted June 11, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted June 11, 2009 Thanks for the info, I have been away for 4 days in Northern England. Yes we are on MSC & did know they picked up passengers there. Hopefully we will get a taxi to the tourist area.
