Vancouver - 8 hours post-cruise with car.

We have 8 hours after our cruise to see Vancouver and we will have a car. Can someone suggest an itinerary that hits the highlights that would work for this amount of time? We will be picking the car up at 10 am and need to be back at the airport around 6pm for our 8pm flight.

May I suggest that you be at the airport about 5 pm for your flight as you need to return your car etc. As you will be heading out in rush hour traffic I would be leaving for YVR by about 4:15.

Things that you will want to see will likely include Stanley Park ...allow min of 2 to 3 hrs, then perhaps Granville Island which is a fesitval market which will use up about 2 or so hours. You may want to consider a trip to the Capilano Suspension Bridge which will need 2 hrs plus 30 mins of driving time in either directions. A walk in Gastown is another idea where you will want to spend an hout to an hour and a half.

Thanks for the information. It helps to know how much time to allocate at each place and the drive time involved.

 

BTW, this is a Saturday, so will we have to deal with rush hour traffic?
