Hotel near French Quarter w. 7 days free parking??

There are plenty of just regular parking lots around the quarter you can park at for anywhere between $10-$20 a day, but I would be leery of them, the regular parking lots are just that, a parking lot. They have some little ropes around the edges of the parking lot but obviously it's not hard to step over a rope.... We're parking at the pier... Most hotels offer parking but I don't know how it works if you're not actually staying at the hotel while your car is parked....

FYI, major convention, expecting 18,000. Yep, that's right. So forget any of the downtown stay/park/cruise specials. Some still available outside of downtown area. Still worth it on better rates, free parking and while you will need to take a Cab to Terminal, that's a better arrangement for checking in and getting out with your luggage and cheaper than the $14 per day at Port Terminal.
