Misty1937 Posted June 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Thanks to gtlovell's thread of a great website on Venice I learned the following tip which I would like to pass on to you all. The best view of Venice as you fly in is from the right hand side of the plane as it flies past Venice, turns, and then comes back in to land. I have been into our booking and changed our seats being careful not to choose them over the wing. In case you missed the thread the website is www.italyheaven.co.uk/veneto/venice/index.html It really is an amazing site with a wealth of info, maps etc and I thank you again gtlovell should you read this thread. Safe travel to you all, Misty
Globaliser Posted June 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Of course, it's worth mentioning (as that website itself says) this can't be guaranteed as it will depend on the winds and air traffic patterns on the day that you fly in.
doctrd Posted June 9, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2009 You are right about the seats into Venice. I researched that before our first trip into Venice, and figured it out by looking at the actual runway on Google maps. All the skid marks were on the left side of the runway, so the right side of the plane would have had the view of Venice on landing.
