Whale Watching and Wildlife Tours in September

Disney Girl 202

So, we are heading to Alaska on September 11. We have whale watching in Icy Strait Point booked and we are trying to come up with the money for a wildlife tour in Sitka. I have two questions - is the viewing still good for both of these things in September or is the wildlife or whales leaving by then? Secondly, as we will only be able to afford these 2 major excursions, would there be something better to do that are not both boat excursions? We have 2 kids and we also have stops in Juneau, Ketchikan, and Skagway. Thanks so much.

Whales are most certainly peak in Sept. they don't migrate until after the begining of Nov.

Wildlife is available out of Sitka with the possible exception of puffins as they go back out to sea.
