Puerto Limon, Costa Rica and Colon, Panama

We will be in these two ports in March. We would like to do the ferry in Colon. Has anyone done this trip? Would we hit any rough water? How about the Dome Train ride? I know you do not go through the locks. In Costa Rica we are looking for about a 2 hour tour. Would you take a cab, or book on the ship? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

The Dome train ride was the highlight of our trip. Bring your video camera !

Oscar can show you a lot in two hours in Limon, you'd enjoy him and the sights he will show you. If you can't get him, you will be accosted by numerous drivers at the pier who will be more than happy to show you around. Stick with drivers who have red license plates. For two hours, I would not offer more than $25 for a couple.
