Booking Icy Strait Zip Line at port instead of through ship?

Are you able to purchase Icy Strait zipline tickets at the port?

I have heard that the cost at port is less than on the ship.

 

The zipline starts with drive up the mountain.

I imagine that the place where the drive begins is close to the ship?

And the place where you buy tickets is close to the ship?

 

I gather that Icy Strait Point is small (in size) port.

How small is it?

All I know is the cruiselines RUN Icy Strait (not Hoonah)....more or less OWN it. They don't even HAVE the tours etc. on days ships aren't in port. Would guess in this situation, prices might be the same except for independent whale watcher or fishing boats, and doesn't someone do independant bear tours there. The Zipline might also be owned by the industry???

You can purchase last minute tickets in the first building when you get off the ship. However, you won't save any money doing it that way and you run the risk of them running out of tickets.

 

Icy Straits is very, very small. It is basically a small area built for cruise ships. I absolutely love it because it is so different from other ports.
