Increasing oil prices - is now the best time to book?

With the recent run-up in the price of oil, is now the best time to book a cruise as to avoid any possible fuel surcharges? I'm sure CCL, RCL, and NCL are watching each other closely. The economy is still poor, and being the first to reinstate fuel surcharges would be suicidal.

I was under the impression that all cruise lines, not just NCL, reserve the right to add/adjust the fuel surcharge even if you book in advance. Hopefully I'm wrong on that.

You are absolutely correct indimini. When one cruiseline initiates the fuel surcharge again then they all will be sure to follow suit. Booking in advance is not necessarily any protection if your cruise if more than a couple months away.

NCL clearly states on their tickets that they have the right to charge you a fuel surcharge when oil exceeds $65 per barrel. My guess would be it would come sooner than later if oil stays at $70 or higher for any period of time over the next few weeks.
