KenC Posted June 19, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 19, 2009 Well, that's confirmed ... all 3 Queens in New York on January 13, 2011 (I feel another t-shirt opportunity coming on!!!). The QV and QE are in tandem to Aruba then split up and go through the Panama on consecutive days and arrive in LA on consecutive days!!! Quite a show really. :D Cheers Ken
demo Posted June 19, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 19, 2009 Hello ocngypz, thank for that information!!! Where did you get it, thats great. And what a surprising way QM2 takes from South America.... So I am looking forward to see the deals they offer. Cheers Dennis
nitnyleo Posted June 19, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 19, 2009 A slight improvement for QM2 . . . at least it stops in Rio. But, definitely QE is the one for me . . . Hopefully, it makes an immediate crossing to NYC (or, maybe QM2 is available) . . . otherwise, I'll be stuck in England for a bit . . . not to say that is bad thing. Cheers! The schedules and opening date were sent to agents last night around 830pm eastern time. I just happened to open my work email from home. QE passengers would return to NYC via the QM2 on 19 Apr 2011. The two ships are in tandem through Ft Lauderdale. QE then heads to Aruba, QM2 to Barbados.

Hello oh great font of knowledge LOL - I think you meant QE will be in tandem with QV (QM2 gets into Fort Lauderdale one day earlier). Shame they're not doing a tandem Panama transit - that would have been a photo opportunity!!! Interesting that QM2 is avoiding going around the Horn again - any indications how her eastbound World 2010 sailing is selling so far??? cheers Ken
KenC Posted June 21, 2009 #10 Share Posted June 21, 2009 Apparently there is the opportunity in 2011 of doing around the world on 3 Queens - QV to New York, then QE to Sydney and QM2 to Southampton. How cool is that?? Ken

How cool is that?? Ken Too bad you'd lose most of your WC benefits sailing a b2b2b on three ships .........and oh jeesh.......the packing and repacking. Sorry, in answer to your other question regarding QM2 2010........it's a mixed bag.. depending on categories and particular segments. But overall, I'd say not bad. The refaring in March.. boosted sales......some categories are now higher than they were when I opened group space in the beginning. I see limited categories available on past passenger rates in all segments.

If Cunard marketing could get beyond slogans they might actually think it smart to try to fill capacity by selling 'Around the World on Three Queens' and maintain the WC benefits.....how hard could that be.....
Bramcruiser Posted June 21, 2009 #14 Share Posted June 21, 2009 Not that I could ever take vacations from January to April due to my job (and whether I could actually ever afford to do it) but I love segment one of the QM2's 2011 trip. I've always wanted to see Rio and Cape Town. Oh well there's always the bridge cam and the virtual cruise. :) I just consider myself lucky to get a chance to try out the QE in 2010 prior to her going off on her world cruise. I promise to keep it in shape.:D David

David Hi David - arrival at these ports are probably two of the most impressive in the world and to do them both in one cruise on QM2 would be amazing!!! They would have to be daytime arrivals though - 6.00am wouldn't quite do them justice!!! Cheers Ken
